ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION: How? Why me?

Because you're evil. I kid. This will not go into the psychological causes of erectile dysfunction. Just the physical causes of erectile dysfunction and some natural cures to help you get things straightened out.

Having studied my man parts my entire life, I can say with some confidence that arteries bring blood flow to that area. Veins take away blood, so that's not necessarily our issue. It's important, but not as crucial. If our arteries clog up with cholesterol, we can develop erectile dysfunction. Blood can't get in, you can't get up, no one is happy. Aside from dietary changes, here are some natural herbal remedies that I've tried out for erectile dysfunction.

YOHIMBE BARK EXTRACT: Andrew Weil talks about it, Dr. Phil talked about it, not sure if Dr. Oz touched this one yet, and if he hasn't, watch for it when Oprah retires. Here's my testimony on the supplement.

At the time I bought a creatine supplement to enhance my resistance training workouts. The goal being to get bigger muscles, hypertrophy, and in turn, get more chicks. Picked up an alternative to the usual supplement because the store ran out. It contained a whole laundry list of things with lots of words deriving from the word "testosterone" so like the genius my lower head is, it took over my body, manipulated my arm, gripped the plastic tub and like an invisible force pulled my arm, it yanked me to the checkout counter.

Upon the first serving, an hour later, I felt significantly more... interested in women. My heart rate increased slightly. Energy increased, as did aggressiveness.  My workout went fantastically well so I decided to keep using the product.

Eventually learning from cause and effect that something in that tub augmented libido, I decided to go down the list of ingredients. Googling each one revealed that most didn't do much of anything, but the ones that stood out merited some experimentation.

Enter the Yohimbe - wa chaaaa! Not one to be troubled with erectile dysfunction, the articles did mention that yohimbe improves libido as well as blood flow to the genital area. Erectile dysfunction could not withstand the awesomeness that is yohimbe. That would explain the feeling of an increased heart rate. With more blood pumping and flowing, at some point, unless cholesterol completely blocks the arteries, the increased pressure of blood flow will eventually squeeze something through. And like the Holland dike, if one hole springs a leak, it won't be long before the whole thing perforates, then collapses.

It worked. Very well. If I ever do develop any kind of erectile dysfunction for physical reasons, I would use yohimbe to treat erectile dysfunction.

WHY I STOPPED USING YOHIMBE:

Earlier I mentioned that even though I do not struggle with erectile dysfunction, yohimbe did compel my libido to seek out more women than usual. So much so that this became a problem. Before testing the ingredients of the creatine supplement containing yohimbe, my non dysfunctional erectile situation became much more non dysfunctional to the point where a different erectile dysfunction situation occurred. The damn thing would not let up!

From February 2010 to June 2010, drugged and amped to no end with yohimbe, not knowing yohimbe contributed so much to this different kind of erectile dysfunction, I embarked (yes, embarked) on over 100 dates, sometimes scheduling 3 dates in a day. When the body takes over and wants to try to reproduce, shyness becomes a non-issue. So does sleep.

Exhausted on my 30th birthday, I took a rest from the supplements. Additionally, yohimbe, the miracle erectile dysfunction herb, as I learned, influenced my physiologically. Of course not everyone will become a raving madman hell bent on dating as a full-time job if they use yohimbe. A lot of factors contribute to this behavior, and the fact that I had only a few months before my 30th birthday may have played a part in all this. The yohimbe helped, that's for sure!

Yohimbe bark extract is among the most effective natural products for aiding those with erectile dysfunction, or in my case, creating a different kind altogether. Not only does it increase heart rate and blood flow to everywhere on the body (including our dysfunctional erections), it also slows down blood from leaving those areas.

HOW MUCH YOHIMBE TO TAKE AND HOW TO TAKE IT: By accident I took it in powdered form with the creatine supplement. When I bought it separately, I bought both tea and capsules. Sometimes I took a cup of tea, sometimes I took capsules, sometimes I took both at the same time (bad idea by the way).

Caution: Yohimbe can elevate blood pressure and cause insomnia. This can be a good thing if your girlfriend wants to be in that kind of mood and go a few rounds. Your erectile dyfunction will be a thing of the past and both you will probably feel inclined to celebrate this wonderful news.

Yohimbe interacts with many common drugs, including antihypertensives and heart and diabetes medications. Thus, if you're taking these drugs already, probably not a good idea to add more to the cocktail (no pun intended). If the doctor gives you the go ahead, sure, go for it. But I would recommend taking care of yourself first with relaxation and exercise to help with the more difficult issues you may struggle with.

ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION IS A SYMPTOM, NOT A DISEASE: Lastly, erectile dysfunction is a symptom of something bigger (again, no pun intended) or a symptom of a collection of problems both psychological, physiological, and environmental.

A verbally abusive wife who acts like an angel when you're out in public but constantly nags you, puts you down with her friends, and psychologically torments you behind closed doors would be a huge factor in your erectile dysfunction.

Exercise, age, and nutrition also play a huge role in your erectile dysfunction. As in the older we get, the less we move, and the more crap we eat directly effect whether or not we develop erectile dysfunction.

Lastly, stress. This ties in with the first statement, and not only do difficult partners cause us to develop erectile dysfunction, but things that take the wind out of our sails at work, in our social circle, and with our hobbies also play a role.

Yohimbe can treat erectile dysfunction and it's a great natural remedy to cure ED. But it's not a panacea for all things. The best natural cure for erectile dysfunction is to realize that erectile dysfunction is like a barometer of everything else going on with us. When the most active drive in our physiological parts aside from our heart and digestive system (arguable on the digestive system there), if our sex drive stops working, that indicates something is up, or rather, not up and your erectile dysfunction is a symptom of something else going on you need to address.

I had to laugh over this one! One of my college boyfriends who was a bit of a druggie anyway swore by this stuff. He used to make it into tea. Moral of that story is hypersexed boyfriend=fun for awhile, but after awhile...not so much...
